You use a polyurethane varnish with a catalyst / hardener. Dupont Imron has been the industry standard for year round machine and objectives aircraft.For acrylic paint with hardener, washed, applied in thick layers on an acid and the substrate prepared nicely.A working visit to the "automotive paint shop should be placed here, but note that this material is not cheap.
In your case, you could consider using heaters for powder coating many pieces. It is much more durable and easier on the eye painting.
